    Professor David FitzPatrick received his Engineering (BAI) degree (University of Dublin) in 1985 and D.Phil degree (University of Oxford) in 1990. From 1990 to 1998, he worked in the orthopaedic industry in Ireland and the UK, becoming Senior Development Manager for knee, upper limb, trauma and spinal product lines at DePuy International in 1996.

    Holding academic appointments in University College Dublin from 1998 to 2018, he was directly involved in mechanical engineering design and bioengineering teaching and research at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, with management roles of Head of School (2005 – 2011) and Vice-Principal (Internationalisation & Development) (2011-2012) in the College of Engineering & Architecture. He was appointed as Provost (Chief Academic Officer) of the Beijing-Dublin International College in October 2012 and, contemporaneously, Dean of Engineering & Principal, UCD College of Engineering & Architecture in 2014. In January 2019, he was appointed as the inaugural President of Technological University Dublin.

    Patrick Fung is the CEO of the Clean Air Network, a non-profit organisation that dedicates its focus to clean air in Hong Kong.
    Born and educated in a highly urbanised city of Hong Kong, Patrick is interested in improving the overall well-being of urbanites through fostering partnership among civic, professional, business, local and international communities, and arousing conversation and actions on improving walkability, transport management and zero emission mobility.
    He is a regular speaker on urban environment issues, currently serves in the steering committee of another non-profit Walk DVRC on walkability issue, and was appointed by the HKSAR Government as expert member of the Air Quality Objectives Review Working Group during 2016-18.
